Abstract

This cross-sectional study explored the associations between childhood maltreatment, the ability to identify and describe emotions (i.e., alexithymia and identifying emotions in the eyes), difficulties with social perception (i.e., rejection sensitivity), and binge drinking in a sample of college students. Alexithymia was found to influence binge drinking in this population.
