Abstract
Co-occurring posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD) remain a public health risk. This study found that among Veterans with PTSD and heavy drinking, trauma-related alternations in mood and cognitions predicted alcohol use severity and alcohol related consequences more than other PTSD symptoms.
