Three New, Generic Scales of Illness Related Stigma Based on Adolescents' Lived Experiences Are Reliable and Valid

Using information from a qualitative study of 67 adolescents' lived experiences of illness-related stigma, generic measures of perceived, internalized, and enacted stigma were developed.  The psychometric properties of these measures were examined using 189 adolescents with varying health conditions. Each measure was found to have acceptable reliability and validity.
