Police, Trauma, and Mental Health: A Tale of Two Encounters

Abstract
Participants were analyzed from the Pathways to Desistance study. Legal Cynicism and mental health outcomes were measured to determine whether views of law enforcement impact mental health, particularly among those with trauma exposure. Results indicate associations between legal cynicism and poorer mental health with stronger effects for those with PTSD.
