Abstract

Alexithymia refers to difficulties identifying and describing one's emotions. It is a key transdiagnostic psychiatric and somatic risk factor. Still, its etiology is largely unknown. We conducted a meta-analysis to summarize findings on the role of the complex connection between types of child maltreatment and adult alexithymia.
