Blue Flavors: Using Linguistic Modeling to Represent When Color Describes Taste

Languages can use one sense to describe another in constructions called synesthetic metaphors. This project attempts to explain unlikely color-taste metaphors (blue taste) using inference-based and frame-theoretic linguistic modeling. English speakers (N = 116) assessed the acceptability of 28 metaphors, which have significant accessibility at p < .0001.
