Abstract
This longitudinal study explores the unique effects of parental alcohol use disorder (AUD) and maltreatment exposure on offspring alcohol use. Results provide support for parental AUD as a robust predictor of young adult offspring problematic alcohol use, over and above the effects of maltreatment, with implications for prevention efforts.
