Abstract
Language serves different functions such as providing information, regulating action, and soliciting information. One challenge to language learning is understanding the function of language, or pragmatics. This poster explores the pragmatics of mothers' speech to toddlers, and how pragmatics changes with age and infants' vocal sophistication.
