Teacher Beliefs and School Supports Are Related to Talking about Race in the Classroom

Abstract
Teachers were surveyed about the factors that motivate them to engage in classroom discussions about race and discrimination. Holding a more malleable theory of prejudice, more strongly believing race plays a role in students' education, and perceiving stronger administrative and parent support all predicted teacher race talk in the classroom.
