Abstract

Teachers were surveyed about the factors that motivate them to engage in classroom discussions about race and discrimination. Holding a more malleable theory of prejudice, more strongly believing race plays a role in students' education, and perceiving stronger administrative and parent support all predicted teacher race talk in the classroom.
