Abstract

This study used structural equation modeling to estimate mediation of optimism and hope(indicators of Character Strength Hope) between preoperative and postoperative levels of anxiety in patients undergoing open-heart surgery(OHS). Three wave interview/surveys were conducted at a major medical center. The final model suggests the positive role of Character Strength Hope.
