Abstract
The US is experiencing heightened fear, anxiety, and unrest (e.g., COVID-19, BLM, a rise in hate crimes, the January 6th attack on the capitol, extreme political divisiveness). We examined the roles empathy and disgust sensitivity play in attitudes about these issues as well as feelings towards political ingroups and outgroups.
