Abstract
Sexual orientation minorities (SOMs) are at a disproportionate risk of suicide attempts compared to heterosexuals. Using a multinomial logistic regression model, we found that perceived social support, particularly from significant others, mitigates suicide attempts among SOMs. Our results are in line with the Stress-Buffering Hypothesis of Social Support.
