Longitudinal Mediation of Emotion Regulation between Secure Attachment and Young Children's Independence in a Representative Taiwanese Sample

This study examined the longitudinal mediation of emotion regulation between secure attachment and independence among Taiwanese children. Longitudinal data of 1767 children were from a nationally-wide representative database. The finding demonstrated that parent-child attachment security at age 3 indirectly enhances 5-year-old boys' independence via their emotion regulation at age 4.
