Abstract
Results from a laboratory experiment that simulated an open-office environment indicated that open-office noise reduced cognitive flexibility among participants who reported relying on their intuition and those who were physiologically aroused during the task. In contrast, open-office noise increased cognitive flexibility among low-aroused and non-intuitive decision-makers.
