Stimulus-Elicited Involuntary Autobiographical Memories: Effects from Incidental Stimuli

Abstract
In a variant of the reflexive imagery task, participants were instructed not to recall an autobiographical memory when presented with images or with a blank screen. Involuntary memories were more likely in the image condition (M=.67) than in the no-image condition (M =.23), p<.001.
