Abstract
Political polarization in the United States has led to decreased feelings of affiliation, social trust, and cooperation towards the common good. This study will investigate the effects of mental contrasting with implementation intentions (MCII), a self-regulatory strategy, on trust in and cooperation with individuals with opposing political beliefs.
