Predictors of White Parents' Racial Socialization: Links to Attributions for Racial Inequalities and Views of White Privilege

White parents' views of racial inequalities and White privilege predicted their racial socialization approaches. Parents' endorsements of structural attributions for racial inequality predicted more messages about racism awareness and White privilege and fewer messages about colorblindness and preparation for bias. Beliefs in, and ability to recognize, White privilege also related.
