Abstract
Polygenic scores (PGS) aggregate DNA variants to index an individual's genetic propensity for a phenotypic trait. Here, we report a meta-analytic estimate of .40 (95% CI from .25 to .54) for polygenic score predictions of educational success. This large effect suggests that real-life applications of DNA-based predictors are becoming tangible.
