Abstract
Democratic partisans viewed politically-salient videos in a naturalistic viewing neuroimaging paradigm. Self-report and neural indicators suggested that negative emotions were associated with desire to socially distance from Republicans. However, hierarchical regression indicated that trait intellectual humility may inhibit social distancing above the influence of negative emotionality.
