Body Dissatisfaction and Disordered Eating: Investigating the Moderating Effects of Specific Coping Factors

The present study examines the role that coping has on moderating the relationship between body dissatisfaction and disordered eating for adolescent girls. Results suggest that support seeking coping moderates the effect of body dissatisfaction on external eating. Seeking support from others when facing body dissatisfaction may protect against disordered eating.
