Abstract

The relationships between children's subjective social status (SSS) and outcomes of BMI and eating in the absence of hunger (EAH) due to negative affect were moderated by teasing-related distress. Lower SSS was associated with higher BMI and greater EAH when children reported being upset (versus not upset) due to teasing.
