Abstract

Some critics of psychotropic medication posit that it creates 'inauthentic change' in people. We compared safety (side effects), behavioral, and existential (identity) concerns for anxiolytic use across different ages. Relatively greater safety concerns were assigned to children using medication, and relatively greater identity concerns were assigned to adults.
