Justification of the Economic System Predicts Stigmatization of Mental Illness

Mental illness stigma remains pervasive. We conducted two online surveys to investigate the role of system justification in the stigmatization of mental illness. Consistently across a broad range of measures, justification of the economic system was the best unique predictor of negative reactions to individuals with mental illness.
