Abstract

We develop and validate a method to identify intersectional social group stereotypes in large-scale language corpora using a new formula applied to static word embeddings. Results demonstrated principles of intersectional emergence: qualitatively new content was associated with intersectional groups (e.g., "women+rich") compared to individual parent groups ("women" or "rich" alone).
