Abstract
Substance use disorder is associated with heightened symptoms of other forms of psychopathology. Our research found that the best predictors of adult anxiety and depression were use of recreational cannabis, inhalants, and illegal prescription stimulants; use of these substances predicted more anxiety and depression. Alcohol use predicted less depression.
