Binding Moral Foundations and Moral Self-Image Ratings Are Attenuated By Religious Framing Effects

Binding moral foundations differ from Individualizing foundations in function as well as content. Despite being correlated with religiosity, Binding scores were lower when completed after, compared to before, religious measures. Ratings of moral identity were similarly lower, indicating that religious framing has an attenuating effect on aspects of morality.
