Abstract
To investigate differences in substance-use treatment referrals between formally arrested and informally stopped adolescents, this study examined a subsample of participants stopped by police for substance use. Logistic regression revealed formal processing was associated with greater use of treatment services. Findings demonstrate the necessity of informal pipelines to treatment resources.
