Menstrual Cycle Stigma Among Adolescent Girls in Same-Sex Vs. Co-Ed Institutions

Menstrual stigma impacts millions of women worldwide. Would attending an all-girls academy alleviate this stigmatization? 105 female students in both single-sex and coeducation schools were surveyed, measuring embarrassment, shame, and product accessibility. Girls who attend a single-sex academy self-reported significantly lower levels of 2 variables (embarrassment and shame).
