Sorting Attitude Alignment Protects Against the Illusory Truth Effect for Counter-Attitudinal Claims

Abstract
Does sorting attitude alignment protect people from the ITE? We asked climate science endorsers to sort climate change claims as aligning with views of climate scientists or skeptics. Endorsers showed an ITE for all claims under standard ITE procedures, but no ITE for skeptic-aligning claims after sorting alignment at encoding.
