Abstract

Negative sexual messaging (NSM) is perceived as a relatively benign form of adverse childhood sexual experience which may affect how one constructs their own sexuality, and hence, sexual self-appraisal. This study explored its effects on sex guilt. The results indicated that NSM in childhood was associated with increased sex guilt.
