Abstract
Social learning theory and communication research informed parent and child surveys about parental socialization of children's COVID fear and protective behavior. Controlling other factors, parent fear and threatening, reassuring, and total communication about COVID predicted child fear, and parent protective behavior and the same communication variables predicted child protective behavior.
