Implicit Updating of Face-Based Competence Impressions Is Durable but Not Generalizable

Abstract
How do we judge others' ability? We examine whether face-based implicit first impressions of competence can be overridden by diagnostic behavioral information, whether this impression change is durable, and whether learning new information about one person affects how people implicitly form competence impressions of others with similar facial features.
