Extraversion Moderates the Relationship between Childhood Physical Abuse and Adult Psychopathy

We examined whether extraversion moderates the relationship between childhood maltreatment and adult psychopathy. Extraversion, physical abuse, and physical neglect were the strongest predictors of psychopathy. Regression revealed that extraversion significantly mitigated the association between physical abuse and psychopathy. Extraversion did not moderate the connection between physical neglect and psychopathy.
