Abstract

The current study explores the developmental origins of conspiratorial thinking through children's endorsements of implausible scenarios. Children (5-10) are asked to endorse or reject 12 conspiracy-like vignettes and indicate their confidence in their responses. We predict younger children are more likely to endorse scenarios and be confident in their judgements.
