Abstract
Rejected people misperceive individuals included by excluders as being active excluders themselves. We found that this effect replicates with multiple included and rejected members, and is moderated by the perceived social aggression of the excluder's behavior which affected the rejected and included individuals to make contrasting judgments about the excluder.
