Abstract

Prior research suggests that emotion dysregulation may result from childhood maltreatment or maladaptive schemas. Our research investigated the combination of these variables on emotion dysregulation in adulthood, finding that three types of childhood maltreatment and seven maladaptive schemas explain 70% of the variance in emotion dysregulation.
