Children's Persistence in Science and Non-science Persistence Tasks: A Research Proposal

Abstract

Young girls persist less than boys on lab-based science tasks (Gilligan et al., 2022; Rhodes et al., 2019; Shachnai et al., 2022). The proposed study aims to gain insight into the nature of these differences, potentially informing efforts to address gender gaps in science engagement before performance differences emerge.
