Visual Working Memory Updating in Chinese Pre-Schoolers

Abstract

We found the ability to update visually encoded information was constrained by working memory(WM) storage and updating demands, but was not affected by memory content in 5-year-old children. WM capacity was not related with their updating performance, suggesting that the storage and updating may impose different cognitive resources in WM.
