Weighing the Genetic Risk: Associations between Polygenic Risk Scores for Cardiometabolic Traits and Adolescent Depression and Body Dissatisfaction

This study tested whether BMI accounts for associations between polygenic risk scores (PRS) for cardiometabolic traits, and phenotypic depression and body dissatisfaction in adolescents. Polygenic prediction of depression and body dissatisfaction was mediated by BMI in all models, except for the association between PRS for type 2 diabetes and depression.
