The Role of Ventromedial Prefrontal Cortex in Positive Reappraisal

The study investigates the role of the ventromedial prefrontal cortex in positive reappraisal - improving emotions by changing the way one thinks about an emotional event. We propose that the vmPFC is involved in both reappraisal generation and implementation, but to different degrees and in conjunction with different neural networks.
