This Study Is Boring! Methodological Issues in Studying Boredom

In a series of five experiments, we examined the conditions of effective boredom exploration. We encountered several difficulties (e.g., differential attrition or low participants' motivation) and tried to deal with them. We found out how to eradicate differential attrition and established conditions that could enhance participants' motivation and performance.
