Abstract

Despite sleep being linked to anxiety disorders in children, little research has explored the cause of this relationship. This study shows that shorter sleep duration is linked to higher anxiety levels and poorer fear extinction recall, indicating that issues with fear extinction may mediate the link between sleep and anxiety.
