Abstract
Using data from the General Social Survey (2016) (GSS, 2016) we aim to explore relationships between Black women's social media use, depressive symptoms, and optimism. We hypothesize that higher social media use will be associated more depressive symptoms and lower optimism and that optimism would help mitigate these relationships.
