Abstract

Childhood trauma is a risk factor for developing psychopathy, yet the mechanisms through which trauma history leads to psychopathic behavior remain unknown. We propose a serial mediation model whereby attachment security buffers the relationship between childhood trauma and psychopathy by promoting optimism in social beliefs.
