Abstract

Overconsumption of high-fat-sugar (HFS) diets may affect the hippocampus, and consequently, affect memory functions. We investigated whether HFS diet indeed impairs hippocampus-dependent memory and also affects executive functioning (EF). We found that HFS diet may impair hippocampus-dependent memory. HFS diet may also affect EF, which then indirectly impairs memory.
