Development and Validation of the Autobiographical Counterfactual Thinking Scale

In studies measuring counterfactual thinking, participants are often asked to imagine how memories could have been different, making trait frequency of counterfactual thinking difficult to assess. To solve this problem, we develop and validate (face, criterion, convergent, and discriminant) a 10-item scale to measure upward and downward autobiographical counterfactual thinking.
