Sleep Disturbance Prospectively Predicts Affective Psychopathology during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Examining the Moderating Roles of Rumination and Childhood Adversity
- Fiona Xu
Abstract
This study examined how sleep disturbance rates, moderated by rumination and childhood adversity, predicts depression and anxiety rates in adults. The findings counterintuitively demonstrate that, under normal circumstances, individuals with childhood adversity were less affected by the emotional influences of sleep disturbance, as long as they possessed low ruminative tendencies.
