Moderation in Multisite Partially Nested Experiments: Estimation, Inference and Design in Randomized Trials

We develop principles of design and analysis in multisite partially nested cluster-randomized trials targeting moderation. We delineate the nature, motivation and utility of multisite partially nested designs and then develop principles of estimation, inference, and power. The results provide a set of principles, strategies and software tools to guide researchers.
