The Effect of Early Family Intervention in Children at-Risk for Severe Mental Illness

Introduction: We investigated familial intervention's effect on functioning in children at risk for severe mental illness.Methods: Family Focused treatment was offered to a randomly assigned high risk group. UCLA Life Stress interview measured functioning at baseline and after 12 months.Results: Familial functioning improved in the intervention group (p=0.0198).
