Convergence of Emotions: Experimental Evidence of Both Contagion and Egocentricity

Abstract
In a 3 (video: happy, neutral, sad) × 3 (confederate's emotional expression: happy, neutral, sad) experiment with a counterbalanced stimulus exposure design, we found that participants' emotions were influenced by the confederate's emotional expressions, and that participants projected their emotions on the confederate when her emotional expression was ambiguous.
